We know your personal information is important to you, so it’s important to us. Our Privacy Policy details how your information is used when you use our Services, and it’s also a part of our Terms, so please read it here.

Information Collected or Received

To use our platform, you will need to provide us with a valid email address and you may be able to choose a username. Depending on the services you choose, we may collect additional information, for example: information in private channels like Conversations, billing or payment information, telephone numbers, physical addresses, device id, device name, device version, operating system type and version, language preferences, information you search for in the application, access times and dates, and other statistics. Please note that for security and performance reasons, such content may need to be accessed by certain GetCost personnel from time to time.

General Policy

We do not rent, sell or share PII (Personally Identifiable Information) with you or nonaffiliated companies, except with your consent or as described herein.

Cookies

We use technologies such as cookies, clear gifs and log files for several purposes, including to help understand how you interact with our site and services, in order to provide a better experience.

Location by IP

We use a 3rd party to guess your location from your IP address. We are doing that only to simplify the first contact with you. This will allow us to show you a more precise estimate the first time you use GetCost. But this is technique isn't perfect and you may need to enter your correct location to get better estimates.

Contact List Information

If allowed in the application, your phone's contact information with Name, Phone Number, email and Address could be stored in our servers. That information could be used to create clients or properties that only you, your team or our employees (for debuging or support purpose) could have access.

Location Information

If allowed in the application, your phone's location information could be stored in our servers. That information could be used to track location traveled and mileages that only you, your team or our employees (for debuging or support purpose) could have access.

Request to Delete Your Personal Data

You can request to delete your personal data from Settings | Advanced or by email at support@getcost.com. Your request will be processed after a few days. All your personal information will be deleted including: contacts, payments, clients, estimates and invoices.

Google User Data

If you connect a Google account to GetCost, we ask only for the permissions needed by the features you switch on, and we ask for them one feature at a time. Connecting an account for one feature does not grant the others, and you can disconnect at any time.

What we access, and what we do with it

Gmail - only if you enable email sync. We read the messages in your mailbox so they can be shown inside GetCost, matched to the client or project they relate to, and searched, and we send messages on your behalf when you send an estimate, invoice or reply from GetCost. Message content, headers and attachments are stored on our servers so that your mailbox still works when you are offline and so that search stays fast.

Google Calendar - only if you enable calendar sync. We create, update and delete calendar events so that appointments and jobs you schedule in GetCost appear in your Google Calendar. This is one way: we write your GetCost schedule out to Google, and we do not read the other events in your calendar.

Google Contacts - only if you enable contact sync, and read only. We read your contacts so that you can create clients from them without retyping their details. Contacts are refreshed when you open your client list.

Automated processing of email content

To produce the summaries and subject labels shown in your mailbox, and to power assistant features, limited email content - sender, subject, date and message text - may be sent to third party AI providers who act as our service providers and process it only to return that result to you. GetCost does not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and our providers are not permitted to use it for that purpose either.

How Google user data is shared

We do not sell, rent or trade Google user data, and we never use it for advertising or to build advertising profiles. It is disclosed only to the service providers described above who process it on our behalf, to GetCost personnel where access is genuinely needed to provide support or fix a problem, and where we are required to disclose it by law.

Limited Use

GetCost's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Withdrawing access and deleting the data

You can disconnect a Google account at any time from Settings | Email Accounts, or withdraw GetCost's access from your Google account directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Either one stops all further syncing. To also have the data already synced removed from our servers, request deletion from Settings | Advanced or by email at support@getcost.com, as described above.

Security

Information collected by this site is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Unfortunately, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we can't guarantee its absolute security.

Modification of Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, and without prior notice, by posting an amended Privacy Policy that is always accessible by clicking on the "Legal" link on this site's home page. Your continued use of this site indicates your acceptance of the amended Privacy Policy. You should check the Privacy Policy through this link periodically for modifications by clicking on the link provided near the top of the Privacy Policy for a listing of material changes and their effective dates.
